The time is finally here for our creepy lovers of the dark and all things spooky and scary. Halloween is approaching, and you’re in for a trick-or-treat!

Last year most holidays were at a halt. Families found it hard to gather around for Thanksgiving, and kids couldn’t go around trick-or-treating during the fall. This year will be a change of plans.

Pub Crawls

Grab your goblins and ghouls as you hit the streets of Jersey City! That’s right, the annual Jersey City Halloween Pub Crawl is back on, and it’s going to be a fright fest. Grove Square is going to be filled with nothing but vampires, zombies, and creepy clowns.

Once you’ve worked up the nerve, make a stop by the bar and ask for a Bloody Mary. Don’t be scared; the bartenders were told in advance, absolutely no biting! Sit around and enjoy the ambiance and food that is to die for.

Hunted Tours and Houses

More into thrillers and giving yourself a heart attack? Join others as they line up for a tour around the 1893 Strauss Mansion Museum in Atlantic Highlands, NJ. Researchers and investigators have witnessed a white figure floating around the curtains of the house. Could it be the ghost of the late owner and Nazi General, Adolf Strauss? The mansion is also known for its setting in the 1980 horror film “Don’t Go in the House,” starring Dan Grimaldi. During the tour, you will be provided limited investigating equipment to share with others as you roam throughout the house.

Brighton Asylum is not for the weakest of hearts. For extra jump scares and screams, get your tickets for one of the top haunted asylums in New Jersey. The asylum was initially shut down in 1952 due to staff and patient disappearances. Since then, the asylum has been the main attraction after being featured on The Today Show, Buzzfeed, ABC, and other major media outlets.

Lose your mind as you explore through the escape rooms, reserve lanes for ax throwing, and avoid the terrifying live actors that will make you jump out of your skin.

Movie Marathon

Not that excited about being outdoors because of covid or other safety concerns? There’s plenty of things you can do from the comfort of your couch. Have a movie marathon and invite loved ones over! Have a stack of classics ready to be watched with a side of popcorn.
