If you’re like us and are constantly perusing the Etsy app, the holidays are a great time to support independent creators. To make your shopping a bit easier, we’ve put together a list of five great Etsy shops selling Hoboken and Jersey City-themed gifts, from ornaments and art prints to baby onesies and t-shirts.

Katie Pea Studio cards and prints

Katie Pea Studio
We first learned about local illustrator and stationery designer Katie Cavallaro when we saw her colorful Jersey City map prints in shops around town (like Kanibal & Co.), but her full collection is also available on Etsy. Her holiday cards are super adorable (we’re partial to the Christmas houses) and her prints are perfect for a fun gallery wall addition.

Hometown Hello custom wooden ornaments

Hometown Hello
You’ve probably seen Hometown Hello’s handcrafted, custom gifts at local shops like the Washington General Store and Bell, Book & Candle, but they can also be ordered on Etsy. For the holidays, we can’t get enough of the wooden ornaments, but the coasters, mugs, and decorative signs are great, too. If you love the look, but need a gift for someone out of town, most of the products are customizable with zip code or city/state.

hudson & asher onesies

hudson & asher
The “fun, comfy clothes for babies, kids, and adults” from hudson & asher feature the neighborhoods of Hoboken, Jersey City, and the Heights. The apparel ranges from baseball caps and tote bags to tank tops and sweatshirts. We especially love the baby onesies, most of which are also available at the Washington General Store. There are also prints for framing depicting maps and fun local landmarks.

Ling Chen Art prints

Ling Chen Art
Artist Ling Chen lived in Jersey City for many years (she now lives in Montclair), when she started sketching her favorite local landmarks and activities. On her website she explains, “I always sketch on location in order to capture the energy of the moment and the place.” Her prints can be ordered on Etsy in different sizes and finishes and include local Jersey City and Hoboken favorites like Taqueria Downtown, the Colgate Clock, the David Bowie mural, Fiore’s, Church Square Park, and so many others.

love, amarie porcelain (and personalized) ornaments

love, amarie
Designer Andrea’s online store love, amarie specializes in heirloom wedding clutches and custom gifts, but since she’s based in Hoboken, she’s also created a series of porcelain ornaments of the city, which she personalizes with hand-written messages (and sells at the Washington General Store).
